Random thoughts...
we hear stories of how a non-christian couple steps into a church, finds God, and their horrendous broken marriage is healed by God's grace. Christians seemingly thrive on those stories and offer proof of God's power with those stories. We look out at the world and say everything will be ok, if u just let God in to take away ur sins. He will heal ur hurts and make things new. We preach to non-christians that divorce isnt the answer. God is the answer. And fully expect God to heal marriages once they have accepted God in.
But...those who r already Christians spend time trying to find justification to get out of their marriage. "God doesnt want me to hurt this bad", "till death do us part doesnt mean literal physical death. It could mean emotional and spiritual death too and since i feel dead inside, then its ok to get a divorce"...and on it goes... I find that interesting and admit that i was one who did that. Its sad that we expect God to do more for non-chistians. God's power is the same for christians and non-chrstan alike.
We give christians a pass and words of understanding, but look down on non-christians for the same offense. Would we be better ppl if we lived up to God's standards as much as we think non-christians should do?. Interesting.
